Ruaha
Wild, remote and unforgettable
Tanzania’s largest national park and one of the wildest places left in East Africa. Baobab forests, granite kopjes and the Great Ruaha River, with huge lion prides and a fraction of the visitors of the north.
Highlights
- Big lion prides and wild dog
- Walking safaris with expert guides
- Very few other vehicles
- Ruaha Carnivore Project and community conservation
Few people have heard of Ruaha and nobody forgets it. Around ten percent of the world’s lions live in the wider Ruaha landscape, along with large elephant herds, wild dogs, and both greater and lesser kudu.
Most guests fly in from Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar or Arusha. We combine Ruaha with Nyerere for a classic southern safari, then finish on the beach.
