Boat safaris on the Rufiji River
The former Selous Game Reserve is one of the largest protected areas in Africa. Here a safari happens by vehicle, on foot and by boat, drifting past hippos and crocodiles on the Rufiji River and its lakes.

Our founder ran a lodge in the Selous before starting All in Tanzania, so this is home ground. Boat safaris at sunset, walking with an armed ranger and fly-camping are what make Nyerere different from the parks of the north.
It is home to one of Africa’s largest populations of wild dog, as well as good numbers of lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo.
